on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM.

Building on the growing body of evidence demonstrating the benefits of services delivered by peer providers in all arenas of health care, including behavioral health, the Pennsylvania Certified
Older Adult Peer Specialist (COAPS) program was developed as a training and internship initiative for trained peers with lived experience that address older adult’s behavioral health and wellness issues.
COAPS has a successful history of working with older adults; 300 Certified Peer Specialists have been
trained as COAPS over the past five years and 90 percent of them are currently working in a variety of human services positions that provide services to older adults. COAPS are specifically trained in issues of normal aging as well as in behavioral and physical
health issues of older adults, such as depression, misuse of prescription medications, and wellness approaches to aging.
This webinar will describe the need for behavioral health services for older adults, the development and
training of COAPS and the implementation and outcomes for this intervention model.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
